A couple of nights ago, at the opening ceremony of the 32nd Cairo International Film Festival, Turkish actors Kivanc Tatlitug and Songul Oden graced the red carpet with their presence.
The on-screen couple, Mohannad and Noor, were also accompanied by Turkish actress Gungor Bayrak.
Kivanc and Songul participated in the opening ceremony and even handed out awards to those who were honored that night.
It's also safe to say that those two managed to steal the light away from other stars and celebrities that night!

The lovely Miriam Fares was recently in Damascus where she held a concert marking the end of Damascus International Film Festival. Actors like Ilham Shaheen, Nadia Al Jundi, Nabila Abid and the famous Jamel Suliman who I personally like and respect a lot were at the concert, also Lebanese singer Walid Tawfik, Tunisian singer Latifa and Lebanese TV host George Kerdahi were there...

Who could forget the Lyrics to one of Jad Shwairi's first ridiculous songs, Ah the poetry!!... Jad came on the scene thinking he was so original with bad dance moves, a voice that even Haifa would be ashamed of; All he did in many households was invoke complete laughter.
Well the other day I stumbled on a video featuring a new Jad, named Modi or Moodi. I would not have a clue as to Modi what, I am hazarding a guess in that he calls himself Modi only as in Cher or Madonna.
Modi is as feminine as our dear Jad is, with an even worse hair style - Anyone living in Australia can recall our famous journalist Ray Martin's wig with extra gel and that is his hair - and a nose job to match; Modi is a new singer who hails from Jordan, precisely half Jordanian and half Thpansih ( spanish) as he thays (says) it. Needless to say that in comparing him to Jad, I am stressing the point that the dude has no talent whatsoever.
We in the Arab world really do have to wonder what has become of us, that anyone thinks they can have a shot at stardom, lacking even an ounce of talent. Pfft it is so frustrating and annoying, the lack of talent coupled with complete lack of shame displayed on our Television these days.
Check out these photos of Asala and Latifa during an interview by Joumana Bou Eid with them at two different episodes of her TV show Kalimat Fasel which airs on Rotana Music TV channel each Thursday.
The interview with Asala was on the 6th of November and the one with Latifa was on the 16th.

It was about six years ago when i first saw a European movie; we were a bunch of friends and it was The European Film Festival in Jordan, we went to see a Spanish movie.
We enjoyed it, didn't understand a word they said but we still enjoyed it!
That reminds me, back in 2000 we went to see a Japanese movie, which creeped us all out! But that's another story!
Well, if you're in Jordan and you've got some free time on your hands and would like to do something interesting, check out the schedule of the European Film Festival which is currently going on all over Jordan!
Whether you're in Amman, Irbid, Salt or Aqaba, you can gather your best friends and go enjoy a European movie at the screening venues. (list after the jump)
